Fall 2026 Orientation Registration

You MUST Register for Fall 2027 International & Exchange Student Orientation by December 10, 2026.

International & Exchange Student Orientation is required of your visa status and begins at 9:00 am on Wednesday, January 20, 2027. Orientation takes place January 20, 21, and 22, 2027.  All required activities will be live that you will attend remotely from within the United States. There will also be in person/hybrid activities throughout orientation with our Global Ambassadors. You will have three days of international/exchange student orientation.  Your visa/status requires that you attend.  Undergraduate students will also attend Warhawk Welcome before classes begin.  You may arrive to the United States up to 30 days before the program start date on your I-20 or DS-2019.  Please allow plenty of time in your arrival planning for delays due to winter weather.

Late arrivals are not allowed.  If you cannot arrive on-time or attend all required international student orientation sessions, you should defer your studies to a future semester.


Pre-arrival Meeting - Please join the pre-arrival meeting to help you prepare for your UWW arrival, orientation, and studies.  The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2026, at 8:00 am Whitewater (Chicago) time.  The link to join is:  https://uww.webex.com/meet/yoonj16 

The University of Wisconsin - Whitewater is closed on January 18, 2027 for a federal holiday.  Please consider this in your planning.

University Housing
If you will be living in university housing, please contact housing@uww.edu to plan your arrival and pick up your key.  Please review if you are required to live on campus. You may pick up your key at the front desk of Goodhue Hall from 8:30 am - 4:30 am on Tuesday, January 19, 2027. Hotel information is below if you arrive after hours or weekend. 

Traveling from Chicago to Whitewater  

Options include:
    - Take a Van Galder / Coach USA bus from Chicago O'Hare to Janesville 
    - Take Uber or Lyft from Janesville shuttle station to the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater
        - Uber 
        - Lyft


- Mini-vanUniversity of Wisconsin - Whitewater's Center for Global Education will offer two mini-van pick up times from the Van Galder bus station (CoachUSA) in Janesville, Wisconsin, to bring students to the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater campus.  Pick-up times are on Tuesday, January 19, 2027, at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm.  No reservation is required.

Insurance
You are required to participate in the University of Wisconsin System Student Health Insurance Plan (UW SHIP). UWW will enroll you in the UW SHIP insurance and the feel will be placed on your university bill.  Information on the UW SHIP can be found at: https://www.studentinsurance.com/Client/963
